Friday the 23rd of September 2016
'Talk Environment' brought together design professionals from across the Wellington Region, Engineers, Architects, Planners, Urban Designers, Landscape Architects, Scientists, Surveyors and more came together to celebrate collective achievements across Wellington.
The night kicked off with drinks and nibbles and a fantastic turnout with over 130 tickets sold across the board to both professionals and students creating a great networking event for Wellington Professionals.
Later that evening we were delighted to have Dr. Jeffrey Wakefield from Cardno, U.S.A fly over for an informative 'lessons learnt' presentation about the 2010 Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Disaster, which is considered the largest accidental marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry. Jeffrey was a lead consultant who assessed impacts of wildlife and nearshore ecological resources. Jeffrey's presentation was top notch and he shared valuable insights that everyone was able to learn from.
Shaun Foster from ACO also provided a great presentation on Environmentally Sensitive Treatment methods for Stormwater that was very well received/ enjoyed by all.
Slowly but surely the night progressed into a party with dancing and music - certainly aided by a depleting wine source, peer pressure, and some Michael Jackson, Drake, and Rihanna for good measure.
A great night was had by all and we would like to thank everyone that attended this inaugural event.
Special thanks to our sponsors Firth, ACO Ltd, Cardno and Peter Fell Ltd
Special thanks also to Dr Jeffrey Wakefield on a fantastic presentation.
Also thanks to the NZILA, NZIA, NZPI, UDF, NZIS, and the IPENZ Rivers Group for their support and commitment to making this event possible.
We hope to see you here next year.
